Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will not have toe surgery at this time.

Aaron Rodgers isn't going anywhere, despite a nasty toe injury.

Rodgers does not intend to have toe surgery at this time, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport and NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. With a bye currently immediately ahead of the Packers, Rapoport and Pelissero hope Rodgers can use the time to rehabilitate.

Rodgers did not practice during the week preceding up to Sunday's victory against the Los Angeles Rams, but he played the entire game, completing 28 of 45 pass attempts for 307 yards and two touchdowns. Green Bay defeated Los Angeles, 36-28, rebounding from a tight loss to Minnesota in Week 11 to improve to 9-3.

The Packers will have few opportunities to rest in the weeks ahead, as they return from their bye week to play the rival Chicago Bears before facing Baltimore, Cleveland, and Minnesota in the next three weeks. The regular season concludes in Week 18 with a game against the Detroit Lions, which Rodgers may be forced to watch from the sidelines depending on the condition of the NFC standings entering the last weekend of the regular season.

Green Bay has already tasted life without Rodgers, losing to Kansas City in Jordan Love's first career start while the reigning MVP was out with COVID-19, and it's likely the Packers would want to avoid having to do it again in the last five games of the season. That would, of course, be contingent on Rodgers' toe's health, but with a bye coming up at a good time, Green Bay is certain it won't have to rely on its backup again down the stretch.
