The SEC Championship Game between the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs and the No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide will take place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, and it's been a long time coming. The game will be broadcast on CBS at 4:00 p.m. ET.
Last Saturday, Georgia (12-0, 8-0 SEC) put an end to Georgia Tech's unbeaten regular season with a 45-0 shutout. In Clean, Old Fashioned Hate, the squad scarcely broke a sweat as it recorded its sixth game of the season in which it held an opponent to seven points or fewer, as well as its third shutout. Stetson Bennett threw four touchdown passes in this game, and tight end Brock Browers rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on only three receptions.
Last Saturday, Alabama (11-1, 7-1 SEC) faced Auburn in the Iron Bowl and came out on top 24-22 in four overtimes. Bryce Young, the Heisman Trophy favorite, and the Alabama offense labored tremendously until late in the fourth quarter when the second-year quarterback produced a 97-yard drive in under two minutes to tie the game. Young would connect with John Metchie III twice in overtime to help Alabama depart Jordan-Hare Stadium with a win and keep its College Football Playoff hopes alive.

The Selection
Moneyline: Georgia -255
On paper, these two teams have a similar quality, but as we saw last week, this is one of the more fragile Crimson Tide squads we've seen in recent seasons. Meanwhile, Georgia has been a war machine throughout the season, with minimal errors in all three phases of the game. Even mid-season doubts about Stetson Bennett starting in lieu of JT Daniels were dispelled when Bennett stepped up and guided the Dawgs through their SEC slate.
Because this is still Alabama, and if anybody is going to give the Bulldogs a game this season, it's a Nick Saban-coached team with a probable Heisman winner at quarterback, I'm going with Georgia on the Moneyline rather than the spread. Still, pick the Dawgs to win outright.
