Shemar Jean-Charles, a Packers cornerback, has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list before of the Browns game.

COVID-19 is still making its way around the NFL, as the Green Bay Packers had to place another player on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Christmas Day. Shemar Jean-Charles, a reserve cornerback for the Packers, has been deactivated, the organization announced just before 1 p.m. today.

This news comes only hours before the Packers' game against the Cleveland Browns, which is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. ET.

For much of the season, Jean-Charles has been a non-factor on defense, but he has been a key player on special teams. Jean-Charles, a fifth-round draught pick by the Packers earlier this year, was inactive for the first two games of the season but has since played at least ten special teams snaps in every game.

The Packers' special teams have now lost three games in a row. Linebacker Ty Summers and wide receiver Malik Taylor, both key components of both teams, were placed on injured reserve on Friday, thus shutting them out for the rest of the regular season. Now, in addition to these two injured players, special teams coordinator Maurice Drayton will have to find someone to fill in for Jean-Charles on considerably less noticeable.

Keep an eye on the Packers and Browns' gameday lineups to discover who will be inactive 90 minutes before kickoff.
