Hudson Lee Madsen, the son of actor Michael Madsen, died last week in Hawaii at the age of 26.
Madsen died on Jan. 23 of suspected suicide, according to the Honolulu Department of the Medical Examiner.
In a statement to TODAY, a spokesman for Michael Madsen stated on behalf of the family, "We are crushed and overwhelmed with grief and anguish at the death of Hudson." "All who knew and loved him will remember his memories and brightness.
"During this trying time, we beg for privacy and respect."
Michael Madsen, 64, and his wife, DeAnna Madsen, 61, had three children together. In 1996, they tied the knot. From past partnerships, the "Kill Bill" actor has three more children.

Madsen appeared in "Reservoir Dogs," "The Hateful Eight," and "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" in addition to Tarantino's "Kill Bill" films.
He has also appeared in films such as "Thelma and Louise" and "Sin City."
