Phillies fan confronts Angel Hernandez in the parking lot after another awful night

Angel Hernandez appears to be cementing his status as MLB's worst umpire.

Hernandez was behind the plate for a Phillies-Brewers game on Sunday night and botched many calls, much to the dismay of both players and fans.

The 60-year-old made 19 errors, including a strike call for a pitch that missed the box by 6.47 inches, a season-high. Hernandez's accurate percentage, according to Umpire Auditor, was a pitiful 85.3 percent.

After the game, one Phillies fan waited for Hernandez in the parking lot to express his thoughts.

When Hernandez drove by, the enraged fan yelled at the umpire's vehicle. He exclaimed, "Angel Hernandez, you stink!" "I'm not fond of you." As he drove away, Hernandez merely replied with a smile.

Hernandez's rulings were routinely criticized by both sides during Sunday's savage contest. Kyle Schwarber was dismissed from the game in the ninth inning for yelling at the ump following yet another bad at-bat.

After being called out, the left fielder flung his bat and helmet, questioned Hernandez about his decision, and rushed back to the dugout. Before exiting the game, Schwarber returned to remind Hernandez of what a poor job he was doing.

Schwarber explained, "Everyone kind of witnessed what was going on." "I'm not here to bury someone, but it was awful." You wish that, I'm not sure how else to put it, it simply wasn't very nice."

David Cone, an analyst for ESPN's "Sunday Night Baseball," chimed in on the broadcast to agree with Schwarber's sentiments. He stated, "I'm amazed it took this long for someone to have that type of reaction."
