In a Verzuz event that is preceded by a bonus match-up, Mario and Omarion, who both dominated mid-'00s R&B radio, will square off.
The two singer-songwriters will compete against one another throughout the event, which can be watched live on YouTube, Triller, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. After the 8Ball and MJG vs. UGK combat that took place last month, the fight represents a return to the R&B genre.
The announcement for tonight's Verzuz battle was made less than a week ago, similar to the previous one. Ray J & Bobby V vs. Pleasure P & Sammie is the battle that will be followed by Mario and Omarion going head-to-head live from Los Angeles. At 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET, the game was supposed to start.
The headliners undoubtedly have some major hitters in-store, with Mario almost probably bringing out his massive song from 2004 "Let Me Love You." With two No. 1 albums under his belt, Omarion has a tonne of appealing solo material to offer.
Many musicians have expressed their willingness to participate, albeit Verzuz hasn't yet revealed what would happen after this conflict. Jim Jones of the Dipset rap group recently declared that he would "smoke" Lloyd Banks if given the opportunity. Memphis Bleek and Juelz Santana are said to be considering a fight, however, neither artist has really confirmed it.
