Ellen DeGeneres’ Show on HBO Max Show Canceled

Even Ellen DeGeneres couldn't avoid the cancellation sweep at HBO Max if there was ever evidence that she isn't as strong as she once was. Little Ellen, the animated series starring the late daytime anchor, was canceled before the start of Season 3, according to a story published on Wednesday by Deadline.

Ellen, a seven-year-old girl who is voiced by Laurel Emory, appears in the program. New episodes for the upcoming season, which was scheduled to debut in June, were finished by the producers. The definitive announcement of the show's cancellation, however, was made in August.

Little Ellen was ordered in 2019. In September 2021, the first 10 episodes of the program were made available. In March 2022, the second season of the program debuted. Johanna Colon played Becky, Ellen's cousin, and JeCobi Swain played Freckle, their friend, in the voice cast. The grandma of Ellen was voiced by Oscar contender June Squibb.

DeGeneres and HBO Max said in September 2019 that she will create content for the streaming platform. Little Ellen was the name of the first show to be revealed. It was inspired by DeGeneres' youth. Ellen's Home Design Challenge was the following program to be revealed. On this reality program, contestants tried to design DeGeneres' house. Between April and May 2021, the program aired. The next performance was First Dates Hotel. It was a reality program where participants went on hotel dates. Because it was too similar to an already existing U.K. show called First Dates, the show was never broadcast. Finding Einstein, a documentary series about Albert Einstein that DeGeneres eventually began producing, but also never shown.

David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, has made a number of unexpected choices since the merger's completion in April. One of his most unexpected choices was to shelve finished work like Little Ellen.

According to individuals who spoke to Deadline, officials at Warner Bros. Discovery can utilize a "buy accounting" maneuver because the company has new owners and a different business model.

This chance is open till the middle of August. This will help the business cut down on losses. David Zaslav, the CEO of the business, is reversing a prior executive decision to offer films on HBO Max the same day they are released in cinemas. There have reportedly been layoffs at HBO Max as well. What the streaming service's future holds is unclear.

Warner Bros. released a statement on Tuesday saying, "The decision to not distribute Batgirl reflects our leadership's strategy adjustment as it relates to the DC universe and HBO Max." Leslie Grace is an extraordinarily gifted actor, and this choice does not reflect on how she performed. We hope to work with the directors of Scoob! Holiday Haunt and Batgirl again soon and are immensely thankful to them and their individual casts. The cancellation of Little Ellen has not received a response from Warner Bros. Discovery.
