'Never Have I Ever' Season 3 Ending Explained, Has Paxton Left?

Darren Barnet has reprised his role as Paxton Hall-Yoshida and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan is back as Devi Vishwakumar in "Never Have I Ever" Season 3.

The Office's Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher's comedy-drama, Never Have I Ever, has returned to Netflix for Season 3.

The show's lead character, Devi Vishwakumar, played by Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, is an Indian-American high school girl who balances school, friends, and all else that adolescence has to offer while mourning the loss of her father.

Never Have I Ever's fourth and final season has already been confirmed, so fans who have already seen Season 3 (which was published on August 12) may anticipate watching the story of the characters continue for one more episode.

Devi and her mum Nalini faced a potentially life-changing decision in "Never Have I Ever" Season 3.

The majority of the cast is anticipated to return for Season 4, however, there are several unanswered issues regarding Paxton Hall-Yoshida after the Season 3 conclusion. As the season came to a conclusion, Devi could be seen debating a significant life choice.

What, then, was happening to Devi at the end of the last episode? Moreover, will Paxton return for Season 4?

Everything you need to know about Never Have I Ever Season 3's conclusion may be found in Newsweek.

The following story contains major spoilers for Never Have I Ever Season 3.

What Happened at the End of Never Have I Ever Season 3?

Devi was shown debating whether or not to transfer to a new high school for her senior year of high school in the last episode of Never Have I Ever.

She was given the opportunity to enroll at Shrubland, a posh boarding school in Colorado that the headmaster of her school said was a rigorous one-year program for academically talented seniors.

Devi initially refused to go, informing her friends that she preferred to spend her senior year of high school with them. She was also concerned that going to the other school would make it more likely that she would enter college virgin. Although Devi's mother Nalini agreed that she shouldn't go, claiming that she wasn't yet ready to let her go, after speaking with Devi's cousin Kamala, Nalini and Devi decided to visit Shrubland.

Will "Never Have I Ever" Season 4 see a rekindled romance for Ben Gross and Devi?

Devi decided to come after all because she had such a good time during her stay. After the high school graduation ceremony, in which the seniors from the year above Devi graduated, Devi said farewell to Ben Gross, a friend with whom she had once been romantically involved, as well as Paxton, another ex-boyfriend.

Devi abruptly changed her mind about going back home and, in a poignant sequence, informed her mother that she was not yet ready to leave her. As much as Nalini attempted to persuade her otherwise, she finally gave in after Devi informed her that she needed more time with her.

Devi and Paxton's relationship came to an amicable, final, end in the finale of "Never Have I Ever" Season 3.

Devi went to Ben's house at the conclusion of the episode and redeemed her joke gift card for "one free boink," which he had given her earlier when she was anxious about being a virgin. This sets up Season 4 to follow Devi and her pals through their senior year of high school, and maybe a romance between Devi and Ben that has been rekindled.

Has Paxton Hall-Yoshida Left Never Have I Ever?

Paxton accepted an invitation to attend Arizona State University at the conclusion of Season 3 and made the decision to do so after graduating from high school. Trent, his closest buddy, was heartbroken by his choice to relocate but soon warmed to the notion.

Paxton thanked Devi for helping him study during his succinct but heartfelt graduation speech, and the two said their goodbyes in the corridor. Devi no longer had butterflies around Paxton, according to the narrator, indicating that their romance had ended.

Although the two had previously broken up in a previous episode, there had been suggestions that they would reconcile before their farewell scene.

Trent, played by Benjamin Norris, will be sticking around for Season 4 of "Never Have I Ever" after failing his last year of high school.

Fans may wonder whether Paxton's departure from the program was a result of Paxton and Devi's relationship receiving closure and his relocation to Arizona.

Next season, he won't likely appear in any school-related sequences, but his closest buddy Trent will still be there, so he could appear if the character goes back to visit.

In order to find out if Paxton will return, Newsweek contacted Netflix.

Trent, who was scheduled to graduate alongside Paxton, announced in the Season 3 finale to his girlfriend Eleanor that he had failed his last year and would have to return to school to retake it. Eleanor was thrilled to have an additional year of school together, in contrast to his fears that she would be dissatisfied with him. Additionally, Trent, who is being portrayed by Benjamin Norris, will no sure be welcomed by the audience.

All three seasons of Never Have I Ever are now available to stream on Netflix.
