Newly Single Pete Davidson Should Star in an ‘FBoy Island’ Spinoff

Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian's turbulent, rollercoaster romance has ended after nine months. The two split up because of distance, according to sources, as Davidson gets ready to film his forthcoming Peacock program, the Lorne Michaels-produced Bupkis. The stars reportedly knew their stars were crossed from the beginning. According to reports, they are still friends and in contact, even if they are both "bummed" that their plans failed.

Given that Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian are, well, Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian, it seems reasonable to assume that both parties to this dispute will recover.

But what comes after?

Here's where I might have one recommendation as a longtime listener and first-time caller: Put Pete Davidson on FBoy Island. Or even better, let him appear on FGirl Island, the HBO Max dating show's inevitable offshoot.

For the uninitiated: Three ladies are dating their way through a bunch of twenty-two males on FBoy Island. The "Nice Guys"—half the men—have agreed to divide the $100,000 cash prize with the ladies if they win; the "FBoys"—the other half—can take the entire award and leave if they so desire. While eliminated Nice Guys chill out in the considerably more opulent Nice Guy Grotto, comedian Nikki Glaser performs the sacred task of mending eliminated FBoys in the sparse holding area known as "Limbo." This is the ideal blank slate for Davidson's next performance, in my opinion.

To be clear, I'm not saying that I think Pete Davidson is a Nice Guy or even a Foy. None of us regular people working from home on laptops could ever assert to understand the true motivations of superstars. However, I must admit that Davidson's public persona—the gorgeous Nice Guy with, for want of a better phrase, Big FBoy Energy—seems to be a great spiritual fit for the program, which recently finished its second season of tongue-in-cheek reality-TV perfection. Is it feasible to make a famous guest appearance manifest? We'll soon find out!

Nikki Glaser, the monarch of FBoy Island, definitely doesn't need assistance with her hosting responsibilities. I would never propose that this woman needs a co-host after two virtually flawless seasons. But what if, for example, Davidson stepped up to manage "Limbro"—the location where the program holds FBoys who have been eliminated? Garrett "King of the boys" Morosky, a Season 1 alum, was given that position this season. Truthfully, I believe Pete could perform better.

The former SNL cast member has gotten his hotness from emotional intelligence and burnout chic throughout the years. At least in the eyes of the general public, Breckin Meyer's portrayal of the kind-hearted stoner Travis in Clueless is matched by his mood. The comedian's success with Hollywood's female population has already prompted unwarranted parallels to the notorious womanizer Warren Beatty. However, it appears that these ladies just enjoy dating men who are amusing, have strong listening skills, and always bring nice cannabis. Do they deserve the blame?

The comedian’s popularity among women of Hollywood has already garnered premature comparisons to the infamous womanizer Warren Beatty, but really it just seems like these women love a guy who’s funny, knows how to listen, and always brings good weed on a date. Can we blame them?

I see that appearing as an accessory on a dating show where the majority of the contestants are influencers would feel like a move in the wrong way for Davidson—a man who stars in his own summer horror and an upcoming program based on his life costarring the great Edie Falco. What if he were the lead, though? My suggestion is to cast Pete Davidson as one of the main characters in the HBO Max spinoff, FGirl Island.

The second season of "FBoy Island" finished last week with a stunning twist: When given the chance to "select themselves" and walk away with the cash instead of sharing it with one of its finalists, one of the ladies happily dubbed herself an "FGirl" in the process. Assuming, of course, that Warner Bros. Discovery doesn't cancel the program as it has so many HBO Max titles in the past week, it certainly appears like an FGirl Island is on the way. Pete is the most exciting potential I can think of for the island. Hey, he could even be able to use it as free advertising for the decommissioned Staten Island ferry that he and Colin Jost recently purchased and will shortly reopen as a "floating entertainment facility." To me, it seems like a side business à la FBoy.
