A STORM SURGE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT, A TROPICAL STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT, A HURRICANE WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT, LOCATIONS AFFECTED – Amelia City – Fernandina Beach - Yulee
WIND - LATEST LOCAL FORECAST: BELOW HURRICANE FORCE WIND - PEAK WIND FORECAST: 25-35 mph with gusts to 55 mph - THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY INCLUDING USUAL FORECAST UNCERTAINTY IN TRACK, SIZE, AND INTENSITY: POTENTIAL FOR WIND 39 TO 57 mph - The wind threat has diminished from the previous assessment. - PLAN: Make preparations for hazardous wind of tropical storm force. - PREPARE: Any last-minute property protection work should be finished as soon as practical. Prepare for little wind damage. - ACT: Get under cover as soon as the wind gets dangerous. – POTENTIAL IMPACTS: Limited – Damage to porches, awnings, carports, sheds, and unanchored mobile homes. Unsecured lightweight things blew around. - Several sizable tree limbs were severed. A few trees cracked or uprooted, although the number was higher where the roots of the trees were shallow.
