Denver Broncos vs. Indianapolis Colts on 'Thursday Night Football': How to watch, listen and live stream

On October 6 at 6:15 MT, the Broncos and Colts will play at Empower Field at Mile High.

MATCHUP

The Broncos (2-2) are hoping to swiftly turn things around when Indianapolis (1-2-1) visits town for "Thursday Night Football" after a difficult setback to the Raiders on Sunday. Both teams will try to improve on their Week 4 deficiencies during this short week as they get ready for a prime-time matchup. The Broncos are hoping to maintain their success at home when they play the Colts for the first time since 2016 after winning their first two games there at Empower Field at Mile High.

In order to improve their offense, the Colts traded for quarterback Matt Ryan, a four-time Pro Bowler, and 2016 league MVP. Ryan played for the Falcons during his first 14 NFL seasons, guiding them to a Super Bowl berth in 2016. Ryan and wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr., who leads the Colts in catches and receiving yards, has a great rapport thus far this season. Jonathan Taylor, the NFL's sixth-leading rusher in 2022, was ruled out by the Colts on Wednesday due to an ankle injury. Taylor won the rushing crown in 2021. Running back Nyheim Hines may be given more work in his place. In a game versus Pittman, cornerback Pat Surtain II will have another chance to show off his abilities, while Ryan will be under pressure from outside linebacker Bradley Chubb and defensive end Dre'Mont Jones.

The Broncos' offense, on the other hand, will want to improve upon its excellent performance in the first half against the Raiders. Through the previous two games, quarterback Russell Wilson has displayed glimmers of his former mobility. In Week 4, he scored his first rushing touchdown of the year. Wilson will attempt to continue dispersing the ball against a Colts defense that allows the 10th-fewest receiving yards in the league per game. Wideouts Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, and KJ Hamler all amassed more than 50 receiving yards against the Raiders. Wide receivers for the Broncos will have their work cut out for them against Pro Bowl cornerback Kenny Moore, who entered the season at No. 82 on the NFL Top 100 player rankings. DeForest Buckner, a seasoned defensive end who has been a force against the pass and the run since 2016, will be a challenge for Denver's offensive line to handle in 2020.

INJURY UPDATE

OLB Jonathon Cooper (hamstring), S P.J. Locke (concussion), G/C Quinn Meinerz (hamstring), and OLB Aaron Patrick were all declared out for Denver (concussion). OL Billy Turner, CB Darius Phillips, and WR Tyrie Cleveland are three players that are classified as doubtful with hamstring injuries (knee).

Taylor, LB Shaquille Leonard (concussion/nose/back), S Julian Blackmon (ankle), and DE Tyquan Lewis were all declared out by the Colts on Wednesday (concussion).
