In Los Angeles, Chris Evans may have hung up Captain America's shield, but he now wears a new badge of honor: he is the Sexiest Man Alive, according to People magazine.
On Monday night, the People website and Stephen Colbert's late-night program declared the winner. Evans succeeds Paul Rudd, another Avenger, who served as Captain America for almost ten years in Marvel's epic superhero movies.
He told the magazine for the cover story, which hits newsstands on Friday, "My mum will be really delighted." She is proud of everything I do, but she can take pride in this.

He also knows that his close buddies will probably make fun of him. He quipped in an interview that "really this will just be a point of bullying." "Harassment is ready to happen."
Co-stars and recent Sexiest Man Alive winners like Rudd, Ryan Reynolds, and Chris Hemsworth are among those who might heckle him. (Hemsworth, who plays Thor in the Marvel movies, was the first Avenger to win this year's People Award; Mel Gibson received it in 1985.)

With roles as a vicious assassin aiming to assassinate Reynolds in Nextflix's "The Gray Man" and the voice of Buzz Lightyear in Pixar's "Lightyear" movie, both of which were released this year, Evans has established himself as a very bankable star.
That's definitely something I desire, the actor told People when asked if he's considering getting married and starting a family.
He claimed that he did not anticipate discussing his personal life in public too much. There are some things you want just for yourself, your family, or your friends.
The Boston native keeps up his commitment to A Starting Point, a platform for civic engagement that he co-founded in 2020.
Evans is certain that People's honor will be a significant moment as he plots the next phase of his life and career.
