Players playing Modern Warfare 2 on consoles have started receiving the Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 upgrade. Although there are contradictory claims regarding the size of the download, it should be roughly 20 GB for the PS5. The good news is that you have until 10 am PT on Monday to download the update and prepare to join the millions of other players in the action. That assumes you have Warzone 2.0 preloaded, which has been available for a few days.
What’s included in Warzone 2.0 update
Although the official patch notes for the update are not yet available, PS5 gamers need to redownload the multiplayer bundle. Additionally, the release of Warzone 2.0 corresponds with Season 1 of Modern Warfare 2, so you can anticipate that the download will have support for and material related to those games.
Here’s when Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 goes live today:
- 10 am PT
- 1 pm ET
- 6 pm GMT
- 7 pm CET
Reminder: Warzone inventory and progress will not transfer to Warzone 2.0.
Some PlayStation users have complained that Warzone 2.0 is not available on the PlayStation Store. Those who are still having that issue should visit the official Call of Duty website, choose their preferred platform, and start downloading.
An overview of Warzone 2.0 is as follows:
- Use 18 significant landmarks on the new map, Al Mizrah, to plan your Battle Royale win or explore them in the brand-new DMZ experience as you make your way to evacuation.
- DMZ: DMZ is an open-world, narrative-focused extraction mode where players can freely perform faction-based tasks, take on additional side goals, engage with hostile players or AI combatants, hunt for valuable objects, and battle to survive in order to exfiltrate.
- Players will have quicker access to the key advantage of their Custom Loadout: The Primary Weapon.
- New Backpack System: Simplified for Battle Royale games and fully integrated for DMZ.
- The Gulag will be a 2v2 setting where randomly partnered Duos will have to work together to defeat their rivals. A Jailer will also be included, who will enter the fray in the middle of the fight to hasten the fighting.
- Third-Person Playlists for Warzone 2.0 Are Coming This Season: Fans of third-person Battle Royale action are allowed to play Warzone for the first time ever during Season 01.
