Although Jon Dahl Tomasson was happy to see Sam Gallagher back on the practice field, the forward won't play in today's friendly match against Ajax, according to Tomasson.
Additionally, due to injuries they had while traveling in Spain, Jake Garrett and Jack Vale will not be playing.
In preparation for Rovers' return to Championship play against Preston North End on Saturday, December 10, it is hoped that all three will be able to practice next week.
In the loss against Burnley, Gallagher suffered a cut above his right knee, necessitating his replacement in the second half.
He worked out with the group for the first time since last Friday, but he will work out by himself on Friday and won't play against Ajax due to a lack of time on the practice field.
Gallagher's first day, Tomasson said, was the first thing.
It was his first few minutes, but he won't participate since he just had one training session and won't be prepared.
But the fact that he is now outside after almost three weeks of being unable to do anything is encouraging.
It's going nicely so far,
While traveling in Spain, midfielder Garrett and striker Vale both sustained minor injuries, but Tomasson is optimistic that both will be able to train the following week.
Their ankle Garrett rolled. He won't participate in the game, but he'll probably practice on Monday," the head coach continued.
Jack won't be playing because of a strained calf and will likely work out next week.
Georgie Gent, who had been introduced to the team earlier in the week, entered the game against Hearts for the final 10 minutes and had a few noteworthy performances.
With the addition of Kristi Montgomery and Pat Gamble, Rovers increased the number of travelers on the trip to 31 in time for the Ajax-friendly.
The players that did not play against Hearts yesterday will be in the starting lineup.
