Coach Nabil Maaloul announced his resignation following a 3:0 loss to Al Ahly. He said the following on Twitter: "After this challenging setback, I am aware of the pain and disappointment felt by Esperantists, and I sincerely regret to the general public for disappointing them last night. I've made the decision to retire, and I've sent the club president my resignation."

Because of injury, Esperance Tunis will be without a few players, including their starting goalkeeper Moez Ben Cherifia, defender Hani Amamou, midfielders Ghaylen Chaaleli and Hamdou Elhouni, striker Riad Benayad, and backs, Hani Amamou and Hamdou Elhouni.
