She famously referred to herself as the "youngest flexer of the century," boasting about extravagant purchases, such as a $200,000 sports car, even though she didn't have a driver's license. Her videos often included explicit language and bold claims, like asserting her dominance in Los Angeles. Lil Tay had associations with prominent rappers like Chief Keef and XXXTentacion, whom she considered a paternal figure. Despite her popularity, she faced backlash for her use of offensive language, though she later apologized. In 2018, she was featured in a three-episode documentary series titled "Life With Lil Tay," which chronicled her rise to stardom.

After disappearing from the internet for five years, Lil Tay became entangled in a custody battle between her parents.
